In case something is wrong with the Mac Mini, the Micca media player (attached to the television at the rear of the cabinet) contains a USB stick with a looping backup video file for use the front of the cabinet. To use the Micca media player as a backup for the front of the display, follow these steps.

  1. Disconnect the HDMI cable (pink marking) from HDMI2HDMI audio extractor (see The Components).
  2. Use the Micca player remote control to choose the MPO Backup file instead of the Portfolio Reel on the television at the rear of the cabinet. Ensure that the file is playing before moving to the next step. The backup file is in its own folder on the USB stick.
  3. Disconnect the HDMI cable from the television at the rear of the cabinet.
  4. Connect the HDMI cable from the Micca media player to the HDMI2HDMI audio extractor(pink marking).
  5. Turn the television off as it is not available for use in this configuration. Store the remote control in the cabinet drawer.
  6. Put away the theremin as it is not available for use in this configuration.

If everything is connected properly, the displays at the front of the cabinet and the LCD on top should all be playing the looping backup file. The volume control on the amplifier should still work with the audio from the backup.

The backup USB stick also contains essential project source files for the functional interactive version of the content. Use these files only if you know exactly what you are doing, please.
